Ten clusters, and how they overlap.

Sorted by weight. Notes appear in more than one cluster where they genuinely belong to both — the overlaps are the interesting part, not an accounting error.

Urgency is the tax

9 notes

Rushing does not merely fail to help — it consumes the exact resource the goal requires.

The largest cluster, and the one that arrives from the most directions. 蔡爾雅 argues from 規律 — everything has an order and haste cannot change it. Steve Koh argues from control: 著急的本質是對失控的恐懼, and the thing you burn while rushing is 「做成這件事所需要的心理資源本身」. Mark Manson arrives at the same door from hedonic adaptation: the finish line recalibrates the moment you cross it, so urgency is chasing a horizon. Logan Barone gets there through flow, where seriousness is a contracted state — dis-ease, the absence of ease.

Performance costs more than it earns

假裝8 notes

Editing yourself for an audience removes the only thing that audience responds to.

Manson supplies the mechanism: every time you pretend to be fine, you are teaching yourself that your real feelings do not matter — self-training in ignoring your own signals. Barone supplies the paradox: the version of you trying to be attractive is the obstacle. And the deathbed list supplies the receipt — the single most common regret is having lived a life shaped by what others expected. The Dazai quote is the sharpest form of it: the stage was empty, the audience never came.

Action comes before confidence

先做7 notes

Confidence is an output of having acted, not a prerequisite for acting.

Dr Shadé Zahrai names the misconception directly: 95% of people say the opposite of self-doubt is confidence, so they wait to feel it. What actually precedes action is self-trust — «I can handle this, and if it doesn't work out I'll be OK.» Manson closes the escape hatch: planning more is what procrastination looks like when it wants to feel productive, and needing a guarantee means you can only ever do what has already been done. Peterson reduces it to an instruction: pick one thing, it doesn't matter what, get good at it.

Boundaries as the higher mercy

界線8 notes

Refusal is not the opposite of care; unlimited availability is the thing that destroys the carer.

Manson's version is clinical: burnout is not the result of too much work but the natural consequence of setting too few limits — and selflessness has a time limit. Short and specific, it enriches you; long and universal, it destroys you. 蔡爾雅 gives the folk taxonomy — 來愛你的、來盜你的、來消耗你的 — and the cleanest rule in the whole corpus: 分清「我的事、你的事、老天爺的事」. Steve Koh reframes the whole thing as compassion rather than defence: 學會界線,是一種更高層次的慈悲.

Drawn from

Inner peace as the terminal value

平靜6 notes

Not a consolation prize for the ambitious — the thing everything else was instrumental to.

This is where the corpus points. 高敏感 states it as a life assignment: 一生只有一條主線任務 — 內心的平靜 + 深度的人際關係. The PTG note refuses to let it read as resignation: 平靜不是退而求其次的妥協,而是一個人翻山越嶺之後,為自己尋找到的最終歸宿. Manson arrives from the other side: meaning comes from how you live, not from arrival.

Drawn from

  • 內心強大了,性格就會變得溫柔
  • 高敏感人才懂得:一生只有一條主線任務

The feeling is not the problem — the reaction is

情緒 vs 反應6 notes

Emotions are data. Treating them as a worldview collapses your perspective inward.

The clearest table in the corpus pairs each feeling with the reaction that actually does the damage: anger→yelling, disappointment→blaming, failure→quitting, jealousy→controlling. Manson adds the trap — feeling better is not being better, and most of our worst decisions felt amazing at the time. And the cheapest substitution of all: worrying replaces caring, complaining replaces fixing, outrage replaces supporting. All three feel like engagement. None move anything.

  • Worrying, complaining, and outrage
  • 每種情緒,都有對應的解藥
  • Move the Body to Quiet the Mind
  • It's your anxiety, not their anger

Language builds the room you live in

語言5 notes

How you speak about yourself sets how you see yourself, which sets how others see you.

破窗效應 is the load-bearing idea: the first pane nobody repairs invites all the rest. Applied to speech — never disparage yourself in conversation, because every self-deprecation hands someone else emotional value; your lack of confidence makes them feel safe. The Endowed Progress Effect supplies the positive form: the brain treats «I hope» as optional and «it's already happening» as a story it is obliged to finish. Peterson's version is the most demanding — be precise, read widely, get your tongue under your own control.

Curate the inputs or inherit them

環境5 notes

The bottleneck is not knowledge. It is what you are marinating in.

The sharpest line in the entire corpus: «Your feed is not entertainment. It's an operating system you're installing one scroll at a time. Curate it or inherit it.» Whoever you follow is thinking on your behalf — you wake up with opinions you never reasoned your way into. 自我提升並不困難 says the same thing without the metaphor: 你早就知道自己該做什麼了,你只是需要一個正確的環境. And 破窗效應 localises it to the two hours after waking.

  • 破窗效應:起床後的前兩小時

Energy, frequency, 磁場

能量8 notes

An explanatory layer — not a separate practice, but the vocabulary a third of the corpus uses.

Worth separating out because it is a distinct epistemology rather than a distinct instruction. 磁場、頻率、福報、宇宙、吸引力法則 do the explanatory work in these notes that 「flow state」, 「self-efficacy」 and 「hedonic adaptation」 do in the English ones. Frequently the underlying advice is identical — relax, stop grasping, tend yourself first, curate who you talk to — but the warrant offered is metaphysical rather than empirical. Reading the two halves side by side is the most interesting thing this collection does.

Holding someone, without fixing them

接住5 notes

The smallest cluster, and the only one pointed outward.

接住他人的四字心法 is the standout: the words were never the point. 倒空自己 — put down your views, your emotions, your Ego, so your hands are empty enough to catch someone. Its diagnosis of bad listening is unusually specific: 等出場型 (waiting for your turn), 嫌棄型 (you're too negative), 放大自己型 (using their story to perform). Manson converges — emotional intelligence is shutting up and actually listening — and adds the rules for advice: don't psychoanalyse, criticise actions not character, and check they want it first.
